3 Bangladeshis killed in M’sia

MALAYSIA: Three Bangladeshi construction workers were killed and another one injured in two different accidents in Malaysia.

The deceased were identified as Rijaul Abdul Goni, 40, and Mohammad Iqbal, 30, son of one Hasu Miah, and Mohammed Taleb, son of Hiron Miah, both from Narsingdi.

Issuing a media statement, the construction company said Rijaul Abdul Goni, died on the spot while the injured, Shanaullah, 37, was sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur after facing an accident 1:20pm (local time) on Friday.

In another accident, two Bangladeshi workers Mohammad Iqbal and Mohammed Taleb were buried alive when soil tumbled down on them inside a pit on Thursday afternoon at Tapah in Perak state.

Bangladesh High Commission officials in Kuala Lumpur confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The accident occurred at a factory construction site in Kampung Banir when the workers were working in a pit around 4:30pm (local time), The Star, a Malaysian English daily, reported, quoting Tapah Fire and Rescue Department chief A Ravi.

Counselor Sayedul Islam told banglanews that the bodies were kept at Tapah Hospital and would be sent to Bangladesh shortly.

Bangladesh High Commission in the country is taking necessary measures to send the bodies to country, he added.
