RUPGANJ, NARAYANGANJ: Four people, including a two-year-old boy, were killed and four others injured when a truck ran over a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Karnagop area of the upazila on Friday.
Three of the deceased were identified as Abdul Kader Mian, 65, Sweety Begum, 22, wife of Sentu Mian, and her son Limon, 2. All of the victims hailed from Kandail area of Karimganj Thana of Kisoreganj.
The injured are Sentu Mian, 30, Aklima Begum, 22, minor boy Sharif.
Rupganj Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Sharif Ahmed confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Sharif said the accident took place when a speedy truck rammed the Bhulta-bound auto-rickshaw in the area around 8:30am, leaving three people dead on the spot and injured five others.
The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital. One of them succumbed to injuries on way to the hospital, the SI added.
A long tailback was created on the both side of the highway following the accident.
