DHAKA: Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Sazzadul Hasan has been appointed as personal secretary-1 (PS) of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The Public Administration Ministry issued an order to this effect Wednesday afternoon.

He will remain in his post as long as Sheikh Hasina remains PM or as long as she wants him to continue the job, said the order.

Former PS-1 Abdul Malek has been appointed as acting secretary of Local Government Division on Tuesday.

Earlier, Sazzadul was served as joint secretary of Road Transport and Highways Division.

Later, he got appointment as Sylhet Divisional Commissioner on March 2 in 2014.

Sazzadul was born in 1961 at South Dawlatpur village under Mohanpur upazila in Netrokona district.
