DHAKA: Elections of Dhaka City Corporation (Both the North and South) and Chittagong City Corporation are likely to be held on the day same.

The hint came form the statement of an Election Commission (EC) secretary Sirajul Islam on Tuesday.

He, while briefing journalists at his office in the noon, said that EC is used to with holding countrywide general election at one day.

“From the experience of arranging such a big election we are ready to hold the DCC and CCC election at the same day,” he described.

On the other hand, the elections might be held soon while earlier these were scheduled to be held on June.

Sources said that the commission on Monday got a letter from the government to select area soon.

However, earlier in 2013, elections of four city corporations (Sylhet, Barishal, Khulna and Rajshahi) were also held on same day.
