Indian new visa center at Dhanmondi

DHAKA: High Commission of India in Dhaka opened a new Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) to cater the needs of the visa applicants in city’s Dhanmondi Thursday. 

The center was inaugurated by acting High Commissioner Sandeep Chakravorty in presence of State Bank Country Head Pinak Chakarborty.

Senior officials from Indian High Commission and State Bank of India were also present at the function.

Addressing the function, Sandeep Chakravorty said, “The visa operation of Bangladesh is perhaps the biggest operations in the world. And this is the 7th IVAC in Bangladesh.”

He also said her office is committed to open more visa centers at Dhaka to bring the facility at doorsteps. 

The State Bank of India (SBI), as the agent of The Indian High Commission in Dhaka, will manage all categories of visa applications process.

It will accept the applications from 8:00am to 1:00pm and deliver visas from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.

Such facilities are now available in Gulshan and Motijheel in Dhaka and also in Chittagong, Sylhet, Khulna and Rajshahi.
