Bangladeshi held with drugs in Singapore

SINGAPORE: Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore detained a Bangladeshi citizen with 3,520 sleeping pills.

The detainee was identified as Mohammad Abdul Momin, 34.

ICA officials challenged Abdul Momin as he was suspiciously roaming in the Terminal-1 of the airport after arriving in the country by a jet of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

Later, the officials searched his bag and recovered 3,520 ‘Nitrazepam’ sleeping pills which, according to doctors of a local hospital, have pernicious effect on human health.

Abdul Momin was handed over to law enforcers. He might be sent to imprisonment for two years and fined 10,000 dollars, if found guilty of carrying forbidden or dangerous drugs.
