NARAYANGANJ: Two cleaners died and two others injured after inhaling poisonous gas in a septic tank in Alinagar area under Bandar upazila of the district on Monday morning.  

The deceased were identified as Farhat and Shahadat. 

Sources said that the workers went inside the septic tank of a under construction building and became unconscious due to lack of oxygen. At one stage two other workers tried to rescue them and they also become sick.

Later, the four workers were sent to Narayanganj General Hospital and two of them shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. 

Confirming the matter Bandar Thana Sub-Inspector Shiekh Sadi said that two workers at General Hospital died on Monday morning.
