Road crash injures 8 SCC officer-staffs

SYLHET: Eight staffs of Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) were injured in a road clash in Shivbari area of Sylhet-Fenchuganj road of the district early Monday. 

The injured are- Sylhet Corporation Chief Conservancy Officer Hanifur Rahman, 40, Assistant Inspectors Nasir Mia, 35, Jubayer, 32, Tota Mia, 45, Belal Ahmed, 30, Mamed, 45, Liton, 35 and driver Siraj Mia, 43. 

Sources said that the vehicle carrying the eight officials hit a roadside tree as its driver lost control over the steering around 1:30am while they were going to visit a dumping yard of the corporation, leaving eight injured. 

Later, the injured were sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. 

Officer-in-Charge Shafiqul Islam of Moglabazar Thana of Sylhet confirmed the matter to banglanews.
