7 JMB men on 7-day fresh remand

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Monday placed seven members of contraband outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) on a seven-day fresh remand in two cases under anti-terrorism and explosives act.

Magistrate Mizanur Rahman of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court passed the remand order.

Earlier in the day, Inspector of Detective Branch (DB) of Police Mozammel Haque produced the seven JMB-members before the court with a 10-day remand plea to each case after completing two-day remand of them.

Police, early Friday (September 19), detained seven JMB members including their acting chief Tasnim from Ashulia Landing Station Park of Turag area in Tongi Thana of the district.

The other arrested are Nayem Ali, 28, Sikandar Ali alias Naki, 25, Mahmud Ibne Bashar, 23, Masum Billah, 26, Fuad Hasan, 18 and Ali Ahmed, 24.
