Japan PM visits DU

DHAKA: Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited Institute of Fine Arts of Dhaka University in the city on Sunday morning.

Shinzo Abe was given a red carpet reception in the campus around 9:30am.

Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University AAMS Arefin Siddique, Pro-Vice Chancellors Prof Shahid Akther Hossain, Professor Nasrin Ahmed (education) and Treasurer Professor Dr Kamal Uddin Ahmed welcomed him at the Fine Arts in the university.

Shinzo Abe enjoyed an exhibition at gallery of fine arts of the university.

Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University handed over a painting and crest to Japan PM on behalf of the university.

Shinzo Abe left the university campus at 9:50am.

Earlier, Abe arrived at Dhaka on Saturday noon on a two-day official visit.
