Minister warns BAIRA

‘Do not sell countrymen’

DHAKA: Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain on Thursday warned the recruiting agency owners saying not to sell the countrymen in the name of overseas employment.

He also declared that the Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA) and government are one and they have no clashes.

Minister made the observations in a view exchange meeting, organized by BAIRA, at Ladies Club auditorium in city.

He also said, “BAIRA and the government is one of the complement of other. No one should consider other as opponent. One must give up this tendency from the outset.”

Minister also said that the government cannot approve human trafficking in the name of giving jobs at overseas.

Expatriates’ Welfare Secretary Khandaker Shawkat Hossain, BMET Director General Begum Shamsun Nahar, BAIRA president Abul Basar and former president of BAIRA Nur Ali, among others, were present in the meeting.
