DHAKA: Custom intelligence officials seized 36 gold bars weighing 4.2 kilograms from a passenger of a Fly Dubai flight at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city on Thursday. 

The detainee is Khorshed Alam.  

Customs intelligence and investigation department director general Moinul Khan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Coming from Dubai, Khorshed, inhabitant of Sitakunda in Chittagong, held for possessing the gold bars worth about Tk 2.20-crore concealed in a water pump, said Moinul Khan.

He is being interrogated and case will be filed against him, he added.
