Tuba workers confined, cops raid

DHAKA: Authorities of Tuba Group on Wednesday morning locked up the entrance of the factory, where over 1,000 workers were staging hunger strike since July 28 demanding their due wages.

Later in the noon, police conducted a raid in the factory to pull out outsiders from the factory.

Officer-in-Charge of Badda Thana Kamrul Faruk said, “There were some outsiders amid protesting workers, we have pulled out few of them and gradually will find out rest of them.”

In the meantime, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) is paying dues of May and June to the workers.
