The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today imposed a ban on all types of rallies and processions around the official residence of Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus and several key areas in the capital.
The restricted zones include Justice Bhaban, Judges Complex, Supreme Court gates, the International Crimes Tribunal entrance, and the Judicial Administration Training Institute.
The ban, effective immediately, will remain in force until further notice.
DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali issued the directive under Section 29 of the DMP Ordinance, 1976, citing law and order concerns.
Earlier, on May 10, a similar restriction was imposed near the Secretariat and nearby intersections.
The DMP urged the public to avoid blocking roads during protests.
