PM asks to start all-out effort

DHAKA:  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ordered authorities concerned to start all out effort to recover launch Pinak-6, that capsized on Monday morning with over 250 passengers.

Her special assistant Mahbubul Haque Shakil told banglanews that the premier is looking for update information every moment about the accident and asked Navy, Rapid Action Battalion, Fire Service and BIWTA authorities to do ignorance in the rescue operation.

In the meantime, Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan reached the spot as per order of PM.

Allude to, police recovered bodies of two women from the Padma river after a launch, Pinak-6, carrying more than 250 passengers, capsized on Mawa-Kawrakandi route in the district in the morning.

Besides, at least 40 passengers were rescued from the river and many more remained missing.
