MYMENSINGH: A rashly driven bus ran over a woman and her daughter-in-law in Bhaluka Master Bari area of the district on Sunday morning.

The deceased were identified as Saleha Khatun, 60, hailed from Shariatpur and her son’s wife Lata, 22.

Witnesses said that a Dhaka-bound speedy Alam Asia Paribahan bus knocked down the duo in the area around 7:30am, leaving both of them dead on the spot.

Saleha Begum along with her daughter-in-law came to visit her son’s workplace at Badshah Textile there, they added.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Bhaluka Model Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Kalam Azad said that following the accident, locals blocked Dhaka-Mymensingh highway about half an hour.

Later, police rushed to the spot and took control over the situation and recovered the bodies.
