5 directors of Regency sent to jail

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Monday sent five directors of Hotel Regency to jail denying bail petition in a case filed by Kabir Reza.          

 

The accused are Badrudduza Sagor, Shah Mohammad Ashraf, Nuruzzaman, Manjur Hossain and Mujib Khan.   

 

Earlier Paltan Thana sub-inspector Obaidur Rahman produced them before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court seeking three-day remand each.     

 

Magistrate Aminul Haque also fixed Tuesday for the hearing of bail and remand plea.           

 

On Sunday night police arrested the accused in a case for beating up one Kabir Reza, a restaurant businessman and demanding extortion.   

 

The victim filed a case with a Dhaka court and as per court directives, police detained the five out of the eight accused.
