COMILLA: A suspected robber was killed and three persons, including two policemen, sustained injuries in a ‘gunfight’ between police and robbers in Hasanpur area under Daudkandi upazila of the district early Monday.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. 

The injured are- Daudkandi Thana Sub-Inspector Atik, Constable Ishak and private car driver Tajul.

Sources said that a gang of robbers were committing robbery in a private car in the area around 2:15am. On information, a patrol team of police rushed to the spot. And the dacoits opened fire aiming police. In reply police also opened fire, leaving the dacoit critically injured. 

Later, the injured dacoit was rushed to Daudkandi Upazila Health Complex where doctor declared him dead.

Daudkandi Thana Officer-in-Charge Abu Salam Mia confirmed the matter to banglanews.
