GAZIPUR: Two persons were killed and two others injured as lightning struck them in Charlaxmi village of Kapasia upazila of the district on Saturday night.

The deceased were identified as Hiron Mia, 25, son of late Alim Uddin, and Shanaj Aktar, 25, wife of Kajal Mia.

Sources said that lightning stuck the victims while Hiron Mia was going to his home and Sahnaj was sitting at the yard of her house, leaving them critically injured.

Later, they were rushed to Kapasia Hospital where doctor declared them dead.

Kapasia Thana Officer-in-Charge Ahsan Ullah confirmed the matter to banglanews.
