BANDARBAN: A housewife was allegedly beaten to death by her husband at Roangchhari upazila in the district on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Selina Akhter, 26, wife of a Mohammad Ismail, resident of Daneshpara of Chainga union.

Local sources said, in a stage of family feud, Selina’s husband beat her on Friday night, leaving her injured critically.

Later, she succumbed to her injuries on way to Chittagong Medical College Hospital around 11:00am, sources added.

Sources also said deceased’s in-laws poured poison in her mouth with a view to proving it as a suicide.

Officer-in-Charge of Roangchari Thana M Nurunnabi told banglanews, on information, police visited the spot and sent the body to Bandarban Sadar Hospital morgue.
