Bangladesh’s weather office has issued a cautionary signal for river ports in 10 regions, warning of squally winds and thunderstorms on Wednesday (Oct 1).

Assistant meteorologist Kazi Zebunnesa said Dhaka, Faridpur, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet may experience temporary gusts of 45–60 km per hour accompanied by rain or thundershowers, driven by winds from the south and southeast.

Authorities have directed river ports in these areas to hoist cautionary signal No. 1.
