BRAHMANBARIA: Two minors drowned in a pond in Birampur village under Sadar upazila of the district on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Antara, 7, daughter of Dulal Mia and Naima, 6, daughter of Ainal Haque, residents of the area.

Local sources said that the minors fell into the pond adjacent to their house while playing near its bank around 11:30am.

After a while their families and locals started searching and later found them floating on pond water.

They were rushed to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital where on duty doctors declared them dead.
