A youth died in a road accident on Thursday (May 29) afternoon in Jhenaidah.

The deceased was identified as Saidur Rahman, 19, an active leader of Jhinaidah’s Maheshpur Padmapukur Government Degree College Chhatra Dal and a candidate for the upcoming college committee president

The accident happened around noon in Sarishaghata area of Maheshpur upazila. 

Saidur, a higher secondary second-year student and son of Mizanur Rahman from Shyamkur village, was riding his motorcycle to Maheshpur town when it collided head-on with a three-wheeled engine-powered vehicle called a “latambar.”

Saidur was seriously injured and taken to Jibannagar Upazila Health Complex in Chuadanga district, but he died on the way. 

Maheshpur police officer-in-charge Saiful Islam said the case is under investigation.
