Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus left Dhaka early Wednesday on a four-day official visit to Japan to attend the 30th Nikkei Forum and hold high-level talks, including a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba.
Departing at 2:10am via Cathay Pacific, Prof Yunus is scheduled to reach Tokyo in the afternoon. During his visit, seven MoUs are expected to be signed, covering cooperation in investment, energy, and technology sectors.
He will also address the Nikkei Forum and receive an honorary doctorate from Soka University.
The visit includes meetings with Japanese officials, business leaders, JICA, and JETRO, alongside engagements with the Bangladeshi diaspora. Prof Yunus is expected to return to Dhaka on May 31.
