DHAKA: US Ambassador to Dhaka Dan W Mozena has expressed his content as the government has made huge progress in revamping the RMG industry during the last one year after the collapse of Rana

He also emphasized on the importance of smooth democratic process in Bangladesh and acknowledged the initiative of the government over RMG sector.     

The US diplomat came up with the satisfaction in a meeting with Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali at Padma, state guest house, in the city on Sunday.

Mozena claimed that the success of the government initiatives largely depend on the positive response from the industry.     
 
During the parley, Mozena discussed various issues of mutual interest of the two counties.             

Referring to the Annual Security Dialogue and TICFA Council meeting which are scheduled to be held in Dhaka later in the month, the ambassador reiterated that the bilateral relationship between the two countries is progressing from strength to strength.

He said he was working on to bring US investment in Bangladesh because he views that US investment in Bangladesh would eventually benefit US citizens.   

Mozena added that the US gives priority its relations with Bangladesh because Bangladesh is an important country.        

Foreign Minister thanked the US Ambassador for redoubling its cooperation in various fields and said that under the leadership of the Sheikh Hasina Bangladesh firmly sits in a development path which ensures steady economic growth and people’s empowerment.   

The US Ambassador said that US does not believe that there is any room for perpetrating violence in a democratic process.   

He emphasized on the importance of smooth democratic process in Bangladesh and acknowledged that the government has made huge progress in revamping the RMG industry during the last one year after the collapse of Rana Plaza.     

Mentioning Bangladeshi people are very enterprising, the ambassador briefed that foreign minister on his initiatives to take a number of Bangladeshi entrepreneurs to various places in USA which includes visit to Wall Street.

Mozena appraised foreign minister about his activities of encouraging Bangladeshi students for studying in USA, Bangladeshi-American to invest in Bangladesh and Bangladeshi entrepreneurs to develop software industry.

Foreign Minister expressed his appreciation to US Secretary of State for issuing a marvelous Bangle New Year message.
