The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kalabagan Police Station and two sub-inspectors (SIs) have been withdrawn over allegations of demanding a large sum of money as extortion and threatening to frame someone in a false case.

The withdrawn officers are OC Moktaruzzaman and SIs Belal Hossain and Mannan.

Muhammad Talebur Rahman, chief of the Media and Public Relations Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter on Monday (May 5).

He said a probe committee has been formed to investigate the allegations.

Further steps will be taken based on the findings of the investigation, he added.
