DHAKA: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) started quizzing the driver and bodyguard of the former judge who had acquitted BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman in a money laundering case.

ACC quizzed the bodyguard Badal Dewan and driver Sohrab Hossain of the retired judge Motahar Hossain to get information about their Motahar’s wealth.

Deputy Director of the anti-corruption watchdog Harun-ur-Rashid told banglanews that Motahar left the country for Malaysia nearly two weeks before the ACC began inquiring against him on January 20.

On January 23, the ACC interrogated two stenographers, Abul Hossain of the Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 and Nurul Islam Mollah of the Special Judges Court-3.

On November 17, 2013, Special Judge Court of Dhaka-3 Magistrate M Motahar Hossain passed the verdict that acquitted BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman from the much-talked-about money laundering charge.
