A youth was stabbed to death by muggers at Sector-7 of Uttara in the capital on Wednesday (September 27).
The deceased was identified as Delwar Hossain, 27, hailed from Gafargaon upazila in Mymensingh district.
Anwar Hossain, 25, brother of the deceased, also sustained injuries during the incident.
According to the deceased's family members, Delowar Hossain along with his younger brother was going to deliver household goods to Gafargaon on a pickup van. On the way, a group of muggers waylaid them and robbed their mobile phones and money in front of BNS centre at Sector No-7 in Uttara.
While the brothers chased them, the muggers stabbed them indiscriminately, leaving Delowar dead on the spot and Anowar critically injured.
The injured was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and then returned home after taking treatment.
Uttara West Police Station inspector Partho Prithom Brhmachari confirmed the matter.
He said being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
