Three people including a man and his son were killed as a tractor hit their motorcycle at Debiganj upazila in Panchagarh district on Wednesday (May 31) morning.

The accident took place in Kalurhat Kathari area under Debiduba union on the Boda-Debiganj highway in the morning.

The deceased were identified as Almas Ali, his son Touhidul Islam, and Amin Sheikh, son of Rajab Ali. 

Besides, Rajab Ali's other son Salekur Rahman was injured in the accident. 

The deceased hailed from Boda upazila in the district.

According to police and locals, four people were going to Debiganj upazila town from Boda riding on a motorcycle in the morning. When they reached Kalurhat Kathari area, a wood-laden tractor hit their motorcycle, leaving Amin Sheikh and Touhidul dead on the spot.

Local people rescued Almas and Salekur injured and sent them to Debiganj Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors shifted them to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

Almas died there while undergoing treatment.

Debiganj Police Station sub-inspector Mohammad Ali confirmed the matter.
