Police arrested four people for allegedly raping a girl in Hajiganj of Chandpur on Tuesday (Feb 7).

The arrestees are - Nimai Chandra Das, 24, Momin, 32, Mamun, 30, and Md. Mizan, 45.

On Sunday, Nimai Chandra Das of West Gandhyarbpur village in Hajiganj brought a girl of age 16 from Darbeshpur village of Ramganj upazila of Lakshmipur this afternoon. Later, the girl was alleged of gang rape.

According to police sources, the four accused have been arrested after conducting drives in the area.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hajiganj police station Zobair Syed confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

He said the victim has been sent to hospital for medical checkup. Further action will be taken after the investigation of the incident.

They were sent to district jail through the court this afternoon, he added.
