26 devotees express gratitude to Bashundhara MD after performing umrah

A total of 26 devotees returned home after performing umrah in Saudi Arabia on Sunday night.

They expressed their gratitude to Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir, also the chief adviser to the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Musalli Committee for giving them financial assistance in this regard.

A flight of Air Arabia G-9510 carrying them landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:40pm.

The devotees stayed in Saudi Arabia for 14 days and visited various historical places after performing Umrah.

One of the devotees is Khondokar Abdul Ghaffar (58) from Sonargaon Upazila of Narayanganj. He sells hats and attar in Baitul Mukarram market. When asked about his feelings, he told BanglaNews, "My dream in life was to perform Hajj. It was not possible due to financial hardship. Alhamdulillah that dream came true because of the Bashundhara MD. I express my heartfelt gratitude to him."

They also prayed for a long and healthy life of the Bashundhara Group MD and his family members and prosperity of his company.

Gulzar Ahmed, senior Vice-President of Musalli Committee, received them at the airport.

In the last Ramadan, Bashundhara Group MD and Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS) President Sayem Sobhan Anvir distributed Iftar to 50,000 musallies at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. He himself was present one day. At that time, he pledged to send 104 devotees to perform Umrah Hajj.

As part of it, 26 devotees left Dhaka on December 4 in the first phase and performed Umrah.

Gulzar Ahmed also said that two more groups will leave for Umrah this December and the rest of the devotees will go by the first week of January.
