Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and the party's standing committee member Mirza Abbas were taken to the DB office for questioning.

Detective Branch (DB) chief and Dhaka Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner Harun-Or-Rashid disclosed this information to newsmen on Friday (Dec 9) morning.

The DB chief said, "They are at the DB compound and are being interrogated over cocktails and explosives recovered from the party's Nayapaltan office on December 7 night". 

He said: "We are questioning them if there is any sabotage plan in connection to BNP's rally tomorrow (Dec 10)".

Harun-or-Rashid said that the interrogation is going on, and details will soon be provided after the interrogation.

Earlier, BNP complained that Fakhrul and Abbas were detained from their respective homes on Thursday (Dec 8) night.
