Three people were killed and two others injured as a bus hit a pickup van on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Mirshari upazila of Chattogram on early Saturday (Nov 26). 

The deceased were identified as pickup van driver Md Khorhsed Alam, 38, son of Abdur Rob Befari of Madaripur, passengers- Md Sohel, 38, of Barishal and Md Hasan, 42, a resident of Pirojpur. 

The injured are Arif (30) and Md Mizanur Rahman Mizan (35).

Mohammad Alamgir, officer-in-charge Jorarganj Highway police station, said the accident occurred early in the morning when the bus of Ena Paribahan hit the stationary vehicle from behind, leaving four people critically injured. 

He further said that the injured were rushed to Mirsarai Health Complex where two were declared dead. 

The rest three were rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where another injured also succumbed to his injuries.
