Prince Andrew challenged!

DHAKA: The Duke of York has said he is ‘grateful’ for an apology from police after officers challenged him in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.

In a statement, Prince Andrew, the second son and third child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, said the police had a difficult job and sometimes they ‘get it wrong’.

Scotland Yard confirmed it had stopped the prince and said the force had ‘apologised for any inconvenience’, reports the BBC.

The incident happened two days after a man was arrested on suspicion of burglary inside the palace.

The duke said, ‘The police have a difficult job to do balancing security for the Royal Family and deterring intruders, and sometimes they get it wrong’.

‘I am grateful for their apology and look forward to a safe walk in the garden in the future.’
