Pakistan on Tuesday (April 29) warned that it has credible intelligence indicating India is planning military action against it within the next 24 to 36 hours, using the recent Pahalgam incident as a pretext.
Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar said in a statement that India’s allegations of Pakistan’s involvement in the Pahalgam incident are “baseless and concocted.” He criticised India’s approach, calling it a “hubristic role of judge, jury and executioner” in the region.
“Pakistan has itself suffered from terrorism and understands the pain it causes. We have always condemned terrorism in all its forms, anywhere in the world,” Tarar said in the statement that was published in the ‘X’ (former Twitter).
He in the statement said that Pakistan had offered a credible, transparent and independent investigation by a neutral group of experts to find the truth. However, he said India had chosen confrontation over cooperation.
“India’s refusal to allow an independent investigation shows its real motives. It is making strategic decisions based on public emotion, which is being stirred for political gain. This is dangerous and unacceptable,” Tarar warned.
He further said that any military action by India would be met with a “decisive” response. “The international community must realise that India would be fully responsible for any escalation and its consequences,” he stated.
The minister concluded by saying that the people of Pakistan are united and committed to defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs.
