One more person died of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours while three new cases were reported across the country, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

DGHS issued a press release in this regard on Thursday (June 5) afternoon.

With this, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Bangladesh reached 2,051,739, while the death toll rose to 2,500.

During the same 24-hour period, three more patients recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,019,360.

The DGHS said a total of 21 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. So far, 15,726,224 samples have been tested across the country.

The deceased was a male aged between 81 and 90 years. He died at a private hospital in Dhaka division.

The daily infection rate stood at 14.29 percent, while the overall positivity rate was 13.05 percent. The recovery rate was recorded at 98.42 percent and the death rate at 1.44 percent.
