Dengue: 103 hospitalized, zero death in 24 hours

At least 103 dengue patients were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (December 22), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 30 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 73 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,692 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 3,20,158 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,09,743 were in Dhaka and 2,10,415 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 3,17,273 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1,08,401 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 2,08,872 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 367 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 826 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
