Actress Geraldine McEwan dies

DHAKA: Actress Geraldine McEwan, known for playing Agatha Christie sleuth Miss Marple on ITV, has died aged 82, her family said.

She died on January 30 following a stroke at the end of October.

The Bafta award winner had a long and successful career in theatre, television and films.

She appeared as Miss Marple from 2004 until 2009.

In 1991 she took the Bafta TV award for best actress for her role in Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit.
