69.60pc pass, 42,894 get GPA-5

DHAKA: The results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations have been published Sunday with an overall pass percentage of 69.60, which is 8.73 percent lower than the previous year.

This year's results also witnessed a fall of GPA-5 scorers, with a total of 42,894 students achieving the highest grade.

In 2014, the number of GPA-5 scorers was 70,602 students with 88.33 pass percent.

Among the country's 10 education boards, Madrasa Board topped the list in pass percentage, showing 90.19% success while 85.68% students have passed in the Technical Education Board.

Besides, 63.49 percent students have passed in Chittagong Board, 59.80% in Comilla, 74.57 % in Sylhet, 46.45% in Jessore Board, 77.54% in Rajshahi, 70.06% in Barisal and 70.36% in Dinajpur.

1,133 educational institutions out of 8, 294 have achieved 100% pass status.
A total of 34,721 students have achieved GPA-5 in eight general education boards, 1,435 in madrasa board while 6,430 vocational board.
67.08 male students have passed with 23,239 gaining GPA-5 while 70.23% female students have passed with 19,601 achieving GPA-5.

As per tradition, education minister Nurul Islam Nahid along with chairmen of all education boards handed over copies of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina around 10am.

Results

Results will be available on www.educationboard.gov.bd and in respective campus at 1pm.

Result can be also get on mobile. The simplest procedure is as follow----

Go to your Mobile text option and type HSC1st three letters of your board name your roll no2015 and send to 16222.

For masrasah students, they have to type AlimMad your roll no2015 and Send to 16222.

For vocational students, type HSCTec your roll no2015 and send to 16222.

Over 10.73 lakh students under 10 education boards appeared in this year's HSC and equivalent exams held between April 1 and June 22.

Of the students, 5, 70, 993 were boys and 5,02,891 were girls.
