DHAKA: European Union ambassador to Bangladesh Pierre Mayaudon met 82 Bangladeshi students who will be benefited from a EU scholarship of the 'Erasmus+' program.

The ambassador hosted the event with representatives from EU member states on Thursday in city.

He congratulated the selected candidates, "I wish you all the best in your new European adventure and I hope all your knowledge and experience will help in ensuring the growth and development of Bangladesh".

The 'Erasmus+' program aims to enhance the quality of higher education by promoting dialogues as well as understanding between people and cultures through mobility and academic cooperation.

This year, 47 Bangladeshis were selected to study in Europe in view of completing Masters or Doctorates.

Another 35 Bangladeshi nationals were selected through strategic partnerships to pursue courses of different duration at academic institutions in EU member states working in partnership with Bangladeshi universities.

Moreover, a European Higher Education Fair in Bangladesh will be organized in 2016 to reinforce the partnership between Bangladeshi and European universities.
