Indefinite strike from Monday

ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY: Islamic University Chhatra League (BCL) unit called an indefinite strike at the university in Kushtia from Monday following a fierce clash with police on Sunday.

University Chhatra League joint convener Abujar Gifari Gaffar confirmed the matter to banglanews in the afternoon.

He said, “We brought out a peaceful procession around 12:30pm. Then police opened fire, leaving 20 men of BCL.”

Earlier in the day, at least 20 people were injured in a clash with police and BCL men on the university campus.

Of the injured, five received bullet injury and four members of proctorial body were also attacked during in the clash. 

The injured were sent to Kushtia and Jhenidah Sadar Hospitals.
