DHAKA: The revenue collection in this fiscal is around Taka 12,000 crore higher than that of the same period of the previous fiscal (2018-19), said Finance Minister AHM Mustafa.

He told journalists after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) at the Cabinet Division in the city on Thursday (February 13).

The minister said: “The government always sets a big revenue collection target as all related authorities try to fulfill the target.”

Kamal said, in response a question, that top managements of the state-own commercial banks are being appointed by taking approval from Bangladesh Bank.

If such provisions are implemented for the private commercial banks, it will be better for the banking sector, he added.
