BNP responsible for DNCC polls postponement: Hanif Hanif talking to the journalists

KUSHTIA: Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub Ul Alam Hanif said BNP should be accused of halting the polls to Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) if it were stayed by the writ from BNP.

“One of the petitioners filing writs with the High Court that led to stay the polls is a secretary general of ward unit BNP. So, how BNP demands that the government has filed writ to postpone the election”, said Hanif.

“BNP should be accused of postponing the polls if it were stayed following the writ filed by BNP.”

It is Election Commission’s (EC) duty to conduct election where Awami League or any other has nothing to do, he said further.

Hanif was talking to the reporters at his Kushtia residence in the morning, in reaction to a comment from BNP General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir alleging that the government wants to stop the election.

Leaders from Kushtia district unit Awami League were present there.
