SIRAJGANJ: Police recovered the body of a teacher hanging under a bridge after two days of missing in Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj.

The deceased was identified as Khandaker Nazrul Islam Babul, 55, son of Khandaker Nojabot Ali, hails from Nolsonda village under Shahjadpur.

Nazrul was a teacher of Makarkola Government Primary School in the upazila.

Shahjadpur Sub-Inspector (SI) Goljar Hossain told Banglanews that the body was recovered from the railing of the newly constructed Garadha Bridge over Karatoya River around 9:15am Tuesday (February 20).

A suicidal note that was found in the deceased’s shirt pocket alludes his cause of suicide is loan.

However, the exact reason behind the death will be revealed after an autopsy, said the SI.

Relatives and locals said Nazrul went missing on Sunday (February) after finishing his school duty.
