DHAKA: Members of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a drive and detained four drug dealers in Motijheel area of Dhaka Friday night (November 17).

The law enforcers recovered 50,000 pieces of yaba pills from their possession.

A truck used in the ill business was also seized in the drive.

The detainees were identified as—Md Jahirul Islam, 35, and Md Ariful Islam, 23, Md Selim Sarker, 46 and the truck driver Md Akbar Sheikh, 48.

DMP Deputy Commissioner (DC) Masudur Rahman told Banglanews that the four people used to supply yaba pills in some places of Dhaka city including Mohammadpur, carrying in the truck.

They would bring yaba from Cox’s Bazar and Chittagong.

However, a case has been filed against the four with Motijheel Police Station, he added.
