DHAKA: The High Court on Thursday imposed a ban on the controversial ‘two-finger test’ for rape victims.
A bench of Justice Gobinda Chandra Thakur and Justice AKM Shahidul Huq, in its order, also directed the authorities concerned to follow the healthcare protocol properly while assessing the rape victims.
The HC directed the government to issue a circular in this regard so that the lower court judges and investigation officer of the cases can follow the HC order.
Barrister Sara Hossain moved for writ petitioner.
Earlier in 2016, five forensic medical experts termed the “two finger test” as outdated and unethical practice.
