DHAKA: Bangladesh athlete Ziarul Islam secured Bangladesh’s sixth gold medal in 96-kg category of men's weightlifting in the ongoing 13th edition of the South Asian Games in Nepal on Saturday (Dec 07).

Earlier in the day, weightlifter Mabia Akter Simanta bagged gold medal in the women’s 76kg category.

On Thursday, Humaira Akhter Antara and Marjan Aktar Priya bagged two gold medals in women's individual under-61kg and under-55kg weight categories in karate respectively while Al Amin secured another gold medal in the men's individual under-60kg weight category in karate.

Dipu Chakma secured the first gold medal for the country after winning the taekwondo poomsae event 29-plus-year category On Monday.
