Shakib reaches 6,000-run ODI club

DHAKA: Bangladesh ace all rounder Shakib Al Hasan entered the elite club of 6000-plus runs and bagged 250 wickets.

Shakib became the fourth Bangladeshi batsman who join the 6000-run club in one-day cricket.

He came into the match needing 23 runs to get to the milestone and touched the milestone with the 124 off 99 balls.

Shakib becomes the fourth player in the world who achieves fastest double of 250 wickets and 6000 runs after Afridi, Jacques Kallis and Sanath Jayasuirya.

He hits two centuries in a row in the World Cup with hundreds against England and now against the West Indies.

Shakib's 83-ball hundred was the second-fastest of the 2019 World Cup.

Earlier, he reached the milestone of 5000 runs and 250 wickets as the fifth cricketer of the world during Bangladesh’s first match of the World Cup against South Africa.
