DHAKA: BNP leaders and activists broke out a march in front of High Court area on Thursday (December 12) protesting the Supreme Court verdict that rejected BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s bail in Zia Charitable Trust corruption case.

Police chased them and dispersed them. At that time, they detained two of them.

The march consists of 15-20 BNP leaders and activists.

The detainees were--Feroz Patwari, Organizing Secretary of BNP’s Paltan Police Station unit and Ibrahim Khalil, former Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader of Paltan Police Station unit. 

“Police are on alert so that no one commits acts of sabotage or make vein efforts centering on Khaleda Zia’s bail issue,” Md. Sazzadur Rahman, deputy commissioner (DC) of Ramna Division under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), told Banglanews. 

Earlier in the day, the full bench of the Appellate Division led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain rejected the bail appeal of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case.
