DHAKA: Jatiya Party Secretary General Mashiur Rahman Ranga said current Chairman GM Quader will carry his charges until holding the party's next national council. Rowshan Ershad will remain as leader of the opposition at the parliament as well.  

Besides, the party chairman and secretary general will decide candidate to contest Rangpur-3 constituency by-elections. 

The decisions came from a meeting of the leaders on sides of Rowshan Ershad and GM Quader, moderated by Mashiur Rahman Ranga, at a city hotel Saturday (September 7) night.

Ranga made the disclosure at a press briefing held at the JP chairman's Banani party office Sunday (September 8).

However, Jatiya Party has been into strife following death of party founding chairman HM Ershad over who will be the chief.
